Abstract: This study aims to identify the causal relationship between innovation ambidexterity and multinational enterprises' (MNEs) sustainable performance. It emphasizes how innovation ambidexterity driven by dynamic capabilities can allow MNE subsidiaries to achieve social and environmental performances. Additionally, we asserted the moderating impacts of host governments' pressures on the association between dynamic capability and innovation ambidexterity. We evaluated our hypotheses using a dataset consisting of 228 MNE manufacturing subsidiaries in China using partial least square-structural equation modeling. Utilizing dynamic capability and ambidexterity theories, our research contributes to the ongoing sustainable performance literature by addressing a growing call to understand how MNE subsidiaries may achieve long-term sustainability when conducting business abroad.2024-02-01T00:00:00ZReverse knowledge transfer from subsidiaries to headquarters: Chinese firms in AfricaLee, Steve KyungjaeGhauri, Pervez NOh, Kum-SikXiao, Shufeng(Simon)Park, Byung IlRomero-Martínez, Ana M.https://scholarworks.sookmyung.ac.kr/handle/2020.sw.sookmyung/1597312024-03-22T04:30:28Z2024-02-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Reverse knowledge transfer from subsidiaries to headquarters: Chinese firms in Africa

Abstract: This study aims to identify the factors influencing the reverse knowledge transfer (RKT) of local market information from overseas subsidiaries to their multinational enterprise (MNE) headquarters. For this objective, this study uses both knowledge transfer capacity and relational capital as overarching theoretical concepts. Survey data are collected from Chinese MNEs operating in Africa, which is often referred to as an unknown ‘blue ocean’ economy. Results show that the components (i.e., knowledge development capabilities and possession of prior relevant knowledge) of knowledge transfer capacity increase relational capital. Specifically, knowledge development capabilities highly facilitate the overseas subsidiaries' RKT, and relational capital functions as a vehicle promoting such phenomenon. Findings can provide valuable theoretical contributions and practical implications to MNEs intending to enter ‘blue ocean’ markets.2024-02-01T00:00:00Z한국회계학회 50주년 (Part I): 뉴스레터를 통해 돌아보는 한국회계학회 50년마희영심준용오광욱오명전정석우정형록조성표최병철최연식https://scholarworks.sookmyung.ac.kr/handle/2020.sw.sookmyung/1596812024-02-01T06:30:30Z2023-12-01T00:00:00ZTitle: 한국회계학회 50주년 (Part I): 뉴스레터를 통해 돌아보는 한국회계학회 50년

2023-12-01T00:00:00ZExplaining Sales Concentration in the NFT Art Market: Trading Price, Market Activity, and Changing User Composition김우경권영옥정동일https://scholarworks.sookmyung.ac.kr/handle/2020.sw.sookmyung/1596902024-02-01T07:00:28Z2023-12-01T00:00:00ZTitle: Explaining Sales Concentration in the NFT Art Market: Trading Price, Market Activity, and Changing User Composition
Authors:
Abstract: In the years following the emergence of the NFT art market, there has been growing enthusiasm and skepticism regarding its potential as a competitive alternative that addresses significant disparities prevalent in the conventional art world. By identifying patterns and driving forces behind sales concentration, this paper aims to present a preliminary assessment of the NFT art market as a viable alternative market model. Building on behavioral theories of economic action, we propose that under high levels of market uncertainty and product ambiguity, participants tend to rely on information heuristics continuously generated through complex interactions among market participants. Utilizing data from a leading NFT art platform, we empirically investigate the influence of endogenous factors such as overall trading price, the level of market activity, and changing user composition, as well as the impact of cryptocurrency prices. We observed a general declining trend in sales concentration, coupled with notable periodic fluctuations. Our multivariate time-series analyses reveal that sales concentrations at the token, creator, and collector levels are influenced not only by changes in Ethereum prices but also by endogenous factors like average trading price and the influx of new participants. Furthermore, the study highlights a notable negative feedback loop between sales concentration and average trading prices, suggesting that sales concentration and trading prices suppress, rather than reinforce, each other, thereby heightening market volatility. While the NFT art market is still in its formative stage, our study provides initial insights into its dynamic characteristics and potential as a viable art market model.2023-12-01T00:00:00Z
