Abstract
It is worth noticing that approximately 60% of sino-Korean words share similar pronunciations with Chinese words corresponding to them. This characteristic can be useful resources in teaching Chinese to Korean students, or teaching Korean to Chinese students. Along with this theoretical perspective, the ultimate goal of this study was to institute an educational system that could effectively help to teach Chinese (Korean) to Korean (Chinese) students. The planned system would be based on correlations in pronunciation between sino-Korean words and Chinese words. We could successfully institute the educational system by following the procedure with two steps: the design of the educational system with a database and the establishment of a set of conversation rules. With describing the two steps in detail, this study could clearly explain how to follow the procedure to institute the system successfully. The author of this study claims that the educational system can help to teach Chinese (Korean) to Korean (Chinese) students effectively, especially pronunciations. This study concluded with some future plans to convert the educational system into a useful application for users of smartphones.
