- Abstract
- South Korea introduced and implemented the admissions officer system to move away from exam-orientated university entrance. The reason for this is to go beyond the school curriculum and to transition to a selection standard that considered extra curricular activity and the character and psychology of the student. To evaluate the admissions officer system, there has been ongoing research on the GPA of students admitted under the admissions officer system. This paper conducts a metaanalysis of the research conducted on the GPA of students selected through the admissions officer system in South Korea in order to determine the influence of the admission officer system on students' GPA. Accordingly, there needs to be further research and discussion on how to improve the validity of outcomes of selected students of the admissions officer system. © 2014 International Information Institute.
