자하 하디드의 뮤지엄건축 공간구성 특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

Zaha Hadid(1950- ), a prominent woman architect born in Baghdad, Iraq and received education in the UK and brought a sensation to all over the world with her de-constructive architectural design style. Her architectural design is famous for giving unexpected result which combines various structure and system by breaking its own existing conventional rules and for that she was recognized highly as the winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2004. This study is focused on museum architecture designed by Zaha Hadid which has been seen as experimental architecture beyond certain typology or convention. Her spatial organization and interior characteristics such as unique ways of manipulating lines, forms, shapes and colors, and unpredictable spatial organization has been examined closely. The purpose and significance of this study is to analyze not only through her architectural work but also through her expressive drawings and illustrations which gave emotional value on museum architecture’s spatial organization and enabled her experimental work as well. The analysis and data collected within the museums won competitions with significance or built in real life. The study was focused on analyzing characteristics of spatial organization, utilization of natural light, design details and forming characteristics used in selected museums. On chapter 2 the architect’s background, conceptual process and other characteristics has been expressed in order to analyze her design characteristics and on chapter 3, Zaha Hadid’s expression style for analysis and on chapter 4 the case analysis and the purpose of the study has been achieved. The conclusion of the study was that her spatial organization was always inclusive of surrounding condition or environment. Secondly, continuity of the open spaces developed interesting interior spaces such as connecting between different levels, or various shapes or sizes. The third founding was that the natural light played major role in Zaha Hadid’s works as it did not just come from the ceiling but also from the side to provide dramatic light effect to exhibition spaces. And last, strong but spectacular design forms created specific characteristic of Zahad Hadid’s architecture space most unique.
