Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrient intake and actual environmental factors with dietary habits in ballet dancers before and after performance. Forty three ballet dancers were recruited by cluster sampling method and they were divided into an amateur ballet company (n=9), a semi-pro ballet company (n=15), or a professional ballet company (n=19). Body composition was measured by (In- body 3.0, Biospace Co., Korea) and nutrient intake was measured by 24-hours recall method (Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis Program ; CAN-Pro version 2.0) Analysis of covariance was used to compare group differences and multiple range test was used for post hoc method. The findings of this study showed there was a significant difference in the vitamin B2 but, carbohydrate, fat, protein, mineral, and some vitamin showed no significant differences among the groups(p>.05). In conclusion, the ballet performance maybe particalarly important on nutrient supplementation in ballet dancer.
