대학생의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 우울증상에 미치는 영향에서 자기격려와 자기낙담의 이중매개효과

Abstract

본 연구에서는 대학생을 대상으로 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 우울증상에 미치는 영향에서 자기격려와 자기낙담의 이중매개효과를 검증하였다. 대상은 남녀 대학생 394명으로 하여 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움 척도(BFNE-2), 우울증상 척도(CES-D), 자기격려 척도, 자기낙담 척도를 사용하였다. SPSS 25.0과 Hayes(2013)의 Process Macro Ver. 3.5를 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하자면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움, 자기낙담과 우울증상간 정적 상관관계가 유의하였다. 한편, 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 자기격려, 자기격려와 우울증상간 부적 상관관계가 확인되었다. 둘째, 대학생의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 우울증상에 미치는 영향에서 자기격려와 자기낙담의 이중매개효과가 확인되었다. 또한, 대학생의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움이 우울증상에 미치는 영향에서 자기격려와 자기낙담의 단일 매개효과 간 간접효과의 차이가 확인되었다. 즉, 대학생의 부정적 평가에 대한 두려움과 우울증상의 관계에서 위험요인인 자기낙담과 보호요인인 자기격려를 통합적으로 검증하였다는 데에 의의가 있다. 추후 연구에서는 심리적 요인뿐만 아니라, 가족 요인, 사회, 환경 요인을 통합적으로 고려하여 연구할 필요성이 제기된다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the double mediating effects of encouragement and discouragement on the relationships between fear of negative evaluation and depressive symptom of university student. 400 undergraduate students completed K-BFNE2, Self Encouragement Scale, Self Discouragement Scale, and CES-D. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS 25.0 and Hayes’s Process Macro ver. 3.5. The major results of this study were as follows. fear of negative evaluation perceived by university students had direct effects on the depressive symptoms while it also indirectly had significant effects on the depressive symptoms by passing through the encouragement and discouragement. Furthermore, verified significant differences in the strength of the indirect effects were found. In future studies, the need to study not only psychological factors but also family factors, social and environmental factors in an integrated consideration is raised.
