대학생의 긍정정서와 진로적응성의 관계: 인지적 유연성 및 사회적 지지의 매개효과

Abstract

본 연구에서는 선행연구와 긍정정서의 확장 및 구축 이론을 기반으로 대학생들의 긍정정서, 인지적 유연성, 사회적 지지와 진로적응성 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 긍정정서와 진로적응성 간의 관계에서 인지적 유연성과 사회적 지지의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 본 연구자는 전국 4년제 대학에 재학 중인 대학생 563명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 이 중 불성실하게 응답한 자료 4부를 제외한 559명의 자료를 구조방정식 모형 분석 방법을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 긍정정서는 인지적 유연성과 사회적 지지, 진로적응성에, 인지적 유연성은 사회적 지지와 진로적응성에, 사회적 지지는 진로적응성에 정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 긍정정서와 진로적응성 간의 관계에서 인지적 유연성의 부분매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 긍정정서와 진로적응성 간의 관계에서 사회적 지지의 부분매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 긍정정서가 인지적 유연성과 사회적 지지를 순차적으로 거쳐 진로적응성에 이르는 순차적 매개효과 역시 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 바탕으로 대학생들의 진로적응성 발달을 위한 긍정정서의 활용방안을 제언하였으며 후속 연구에 대하여 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among positive emotion, cognitive flexibility, social support and career adaptability based on the previous studies and the broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions and to verify the mediating effects of cognitive flexibility and social support in the relationship between positive emotion and career adaptability. To this end, this study implemented a survey involving 563 students in 4-year universities in Korea, and the data of 559 participants excluding 4 copies of the data that responded insincerely were analyzed through the structural equation model analysis method. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, it was found that positive emotion had positive effects on cognitive flexibility, social support, and career adaptability; cognitive flexibility on social support and career adaptability; and social support on career adaptability. Second, the partial mediating effect of cognitive flexibility was significant in the relationship between positive emotion and career adaptability. Third, the partial mediating effect of social support was significant in the relationship between positive emotion and career adaptability. Fourth, positive emotion influenced career adaptability through cognitive flexibility and social support sequentially. On the basis of these results, the utilization of positive emotion for the development of career adaptability of college students and suggestions for subsequent studies were discussed.
