가정 내 여성의 성역할에 대한 내러티브 탐구

Abstract

본 연구는 여성의 가정 내 성역할 인식 경험을 살펴보고 그것이 고착화, 내면화되는 양상을 탐구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2명의 연구 참여자를 심층면담하여 가정 내에서 40대 기혼 여성과 20대 성인초기여성이 성역할 경험에 대한 내러티브를 수집, 분석하였다. 참여자들의 가정내 성역할 경험의 의미는 ‘가사 노동의 책임 전가와 가정내 역할 의존에 부당함: 저항기’, ‘가사 노동에 있어 역할의 재생산을 경험: 갈등기’, ‘성역할 합리화에 따른 예정된 갈등: 수용기’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 20대 미혼여성은 사회진출의 역할 성취 속에서 딜레마를 겪으며 성인으로서 성차별을 경험하는 시기이고, 40대 기혼여성은 다양한 층위의 차별에서 해방되어 자신의 지위를 탐구하고 재정립하는 시기라는 점에서 시사점을 가진다. 본 연구 결과는 가정 내 여성의 성역할 인식이 어떻게 인식되고 형성되는지 보다 깊이 이해함으로써 가족 상담에 매우 효과적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This study looks into the recognition experience of the women’s gender roles at home and explores the aspects of its becoming permanent and internalized. Accordingly, in this study, we explored the stories about gender roles that married women in their 40s and single women in their 20s had experienced at homes, and the meaning of such experience was identified. We collected and analyzed the narrative of the experience after conducting in-depth interviews with two study participants. The meaning of the participants’ experience of home gender role was ‘the unfairness of the transfer of responsibility of household labor and the dependence on roles in the home: the resistance period’, ‘the reproduction of roles in household labor: the conflict period’, ‘the scheduled conflict due to gender role rationalization: the acceptance period.’ The results of this study will be used as a very effective data for the family counseling by understanding more deeply how the gender role perception of women in the home is formed.
