지역아동센터의 아동권리존중이 아동의 권리의식에 미치는 영향 : 자아존중감의 매개효과

Abstract

연구목적: 본 연구의 목적은 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동이 센터에서 경험한 권리존중정도가 자아존중감을 통해 권리의식에 영향을 미치는지 검증하는 것이다. 방법: 지역아동센터 아동패널조사 3기 패널 2차년도 자료를 활용하여 2차 자료분석을 실시하였다. 아동의 권리존중경험과 자아존중감, 권리의식 간의 인과관계를 검증하기 위해구조방정식 분석과 부트스트래핑을 실시하였다. 결과: 첫째, 지역아동센터에서의 권리존중은 아동의 자아존중감을 높이는 데 직접적인영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 아동의 자아존중감은 권리의식에 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 셋째, 지역아동센터의 권리존중은 자아존중감을 통하여 권리의식을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 지역아동센터에서 아동의 권리의식을 높이기 위해서 권리 교육도 중요하지만, 아동이 실제 지역아동센터 서비스 이용 과정에서 권리를 존중받는 것이 중요하다. 또한 지역아동센터를 이용하는 아동의 자아존중감은 권리의식에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인으로 아동의 자아존중감을 높이기 위한 노력이 필요하다.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of self-esteembetween respecting children’s rights in a community child center and children’s rightsconsciousness. Methods: The 2nd wave of the Community Child Center Panel (3rd stage) were used foranalysis. Structural equation modeling analysis was conducted using the children's experienceof being respected in the community child center, and children’s rights consciousness andself-esteem. A bootstrapping method was utilized to examine the mediating effects. Results: First, we found that respecting children’s rights in the community child center hada direct effect on self-esteem. Second, we showed that self-esteem had a positive effect onchildren's rights consciousness. Third, the respect for rights in local child centers directlyeffects children's rights consciousness, and at the same time, it is a partial mediating modelthat is influenced by mediating self-esteem. Conclusions: The results of this study imply that children’s rights education is importantto raise children's rights consciousness in community child centers, and it is important torespect children's rights in the process of actually using community child centers. In addition,the self-esteem of children who use community child centers is an important factor influencingthe children’s rights consciousness, and efforts to increase the self-esteem of children arenecessary
