- Abstract
- 본 연구는 1980년대 이래 지속된 미국 자동차 산업의 자국내 생산 중단 및 해외 이전이 노동자들의 고용지위에 미친 영향 및 이에 대한 노동조합의 대응 전략과 그 결과를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구를 통해 필자는 사용자들의 자본철수 위협 하에서 노동조합이 ‘양보’ 또는 ‘지대추구’의 전략적 선택을 수행하고 있음을 밝히고 있다. 본 연구는 공장폐쇄에 관련된 제도적 제약 없이 관련 이슈가 노사간 교섭에 의해 결정될 경우 노동조합의 전략적 선택과 무관하게 공장이 폐쇄될 가능성이 높지만 공장폐쇄를 규제하는 제도 및 정책이 존재하는 영역에서는 노사간 생산 유지를 위한 협약이 체결될 가능성이 높다는 것을 결론으로 제시한다.
