- Abstract
- Improvements in genome technology have been substantially increasing the available amount of gene data. As the gene data contain sensitive personal information, security schemes that can ensure confidentiality and safe sharing are necessary. In this paper, we propose a model for secure gene data management using blockchain and encryption. The proposed model employs a storage where the gene data are partially encrypted, and access control for the data is ensured by the blockchain so that the data can be shared safely. Furthermore, the gene owner can trace the usage and status of the data using a decentralized application. © 2021 IEEE.
