Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze 15 children and adolescents’ daily life experiences during COVID-19 and to find their meanings. To this end, the research participants were divided into elementary, middle, and high school students, and five research participants were put into each interview group to conduct a focus group interview. 11 categories and 39 subcategories were derived from the data. The 11 categories included: 'Education', 'School Life', 'Relationship with Teachers', 'Family Relationship', 'Life at Home', 'Physical and Mental Health', 'COVID-19 related Information', 'External support', and 'Policy'. It was found that children and adolescents who participated in the study had a significant number of negative experiences. Due to the effects of COVID-19, developmental aspects such as autonomy, relationship, ability, learning rights, and play rights were negatively affected. Overall, this experience was found to have a more negative effect on elementary school research participants than on middle and high school research participants. Based on the results of this study, discussions and further studies were presented.
