뉴미디어 무용예술에서 이미지 권력: 블록체인과 NFT기술을 중심으로

Abstract

이 연구는 무용이 뉴미디어 아트로 진화하는데 있어 블록체인기술과 NFT기술이가질 미학적 전망과 패러독스에 관해 다루어보고자 한다. 연구목적을 보다 세부적으로 제시해보자면 물질적인 원형으로부터 해방된 디지털 이미지가 지닌 유일성, 지속성의 권리를 두고 디지털 시대 새로운 아우라의 의미를 논증해보는데 연구목적이 있다. 연구에 대한 접근방식은 Walter Benjamin과 Baudrillard의 이론을 통해 논의되었다. 먼저 Ⅱ장에서는 이미지의 발생적 의미와 역사를 다루어 보았다. Ⅲ장의 경우디지털 복제시대 이미지 우생학으로 블록체인과 NFT 기술을 꼽았으며 이를 통해 아우라에 대한 진화가 논의되었다. Ⅳ에서는 디지털 파일에 대한 소유권과 구독권, 재화등 자본주의 심미화로서 확장되는 이미지의 위상을 무용예술에서 이미지 권력으로 쟁점화 시켜보았다. 오늘날 이미지는 물질을 재현하는 모방자에서 물질을 창조하는 해석자로 변모하였다. 이러한 변화와 직면해 무용에서 블록체인과 NFT기술에 관한 적용 가능성을 논의해본다는 것은 뉴미디어 아트로서 무용 패러다임을 새롭게 통찰해볼 수 있어 의미 있는 학문적 수행이 될 것이다.

This study aims to examine the aesthetic prospect and paradox of block chain and NFT technology, as dance art evolves into new media art. More specific objective of it is to demonstrate the implication of new aura in the digital age by considering uniqueness, the right of continuity, of digital images liberated from the material archetype. The approach to the study was discussed based on the theories of Walter Benjamin and Baudrillard. At first, Chapter II deals with the genetic meaning and history of images. Chapter III identifies block chain and NFT technology as the image eugenics in the age of digital reproduction, and therefore, discusses the evolution of aura. Chapter IV presents the status of images extended as the aestheticization of capitalism including ownership, subscription of digital files, and goods, as an issue as image power in dance art. Today, images have been transformed from the imitators reproducing materials to the interpreters creating them. In the face of such a change, the discussion of the applicability of block chain and NFT technology to the dance art may be meaningful scholarly performance, in that it can provide a new insight on the dance paradigm as new media
