The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of caffeine supplementation with aerobic exercise on health related physical fitness, serum lipidlipoprotein profiles and metabolic indices in college females.13 college females were randomly assigned to one of three groups, i.e., Group Ⅰ(n=4): placebo(180g/day); Group Ⅱ(n=4): caffeine(180g/day); Group Ⅲ(n=5): caffeine(360g/day) with aerobic exercise for 8 weeks. For aerobic exercise, they performed treadmill exercise (3-5d/w, 20-34min/d). The following measurements were made on all subjects before and after 8 week of experiment. Muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiopulmonary endurance, flexibility, weight, percent body fat, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, free fatty acid, leptin and lactate.Analysis of Covariance, Multiple Range Test and Krusal-Wallis test were used to determine the statistical significance. There were no significant differences in Muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiopulmonary endurance, flexibility, weight, percent body fat, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, free fatty acid, leptin, and lactate but HDL cholesterol were significantly changed(p<.05). In conclusion, 8 weeks' caffeine supplementation with aerobic exercise can be increase on health related physical fitness, and metabolic indices in college females.Determination of which exercise types, caffeine dosage and training status of individuals would produce reproducible ergogenic effects is a logical extension of current research.-
