- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate effects on body compositions and hormones in long time ballet trained children. The subjects were 7 children who participated in ballet and 7 children who did not participate in any other activity. The results were follows:1. Height, weight, body fat, body mass, and body water in ballet group were higher than in control group. But there were not significantly different.2. HGH and IGF-1 in ballet group were significantly higher than in control group. 3. TSH and T4 were normal range both in ballet and control group. TSH and T4 in ballet were higher than in control group, but there were not significantly different.4, PTH and calcitonin were normal range both in ballet and control group. PTH in ballet were higher than in control group, but calcitonin in ballet were lower than in control group. But there were no significant difference.The results suggested that regularly long time ballet training effected on developing balance in children.
