- Abstract
- The objective of this study is to examine the sports massage effects on PMS level and hormone concentration. Six high school students who have low to medium level PMS were selected for this study. They performed sports massage program for 8 weeks. They answered PMS questionnaire and blood samplings were performed at 0, 4, and 8-week periods of time. SPSS 10.0 was used for the data analysis and repeated measure ANOVA method and t-tset were selected for the significance level test. Bonferroni test was used for the post hoc of the analysis. The results of this study are as follows.1. PMS level was significantly reduced for the total PMS(p< .05), negative effect(p< .05), autonomic reaction(p< .05) groups.2. Cortisol concentration was significantly changed(p< .05).This study suggests the regular sports massage program is obviously helpful to for low to medium PMS patients for the positive psychological effects and hormone excretion. These results shows the program is effective for the alleviation of PMS and, for future studies, researches with various exercise program are necessary.
