지역아동센터 아동의 공격성, 우울이 휴대폰 의존도 변화에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 휴대폰 의존도가 시간의 흐름에 따라 어떠한 변화양상을 보이는지 알아보고, 이에 영향을 미치는 아동의 정신건강상태 특히, 공격성, 우울의 영향력을 검증하는 것이다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 지역아동센터 중앙지원단의 ‘지역아동센터 아동패널조사’ 초등학교 4학년 2차 패널 자료 중 3차 연도 모두 성실하게 응답한 235명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료의 일반적 경향을 살펴보기 위해 평균, 표준편차, 상관계수를 산출하였고, 변화궤적과 영향요인을 파악하기 위해 잠재성장모형을 적용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 휴대폰 의존도는 연령이 증가함에 따라 점점 증가하는 경향이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 변화에서의 개인차가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 휴대폰 의존도의 초기치와 변화율은 유의미한 부적상관관계를 가졌으며 이는 휴대폰 의존도의 초기치가 높은 아동이 변화율이 작은 것을 의미한다. 셋째, 1차년도 아동의 공격성은 휴대폰 의존도의 1차년도 초기치에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 1차년도 아동의 우울은 휴대폰 의존도의 초기치와 변화율에 모두 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 종단적 접근법을 사용하여 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 휴대폰 의존도의 변화 추이와 그에 미치는 아동의 정신건강 상태의 영향력을 확인하였다는데 의의가 있다. 이러한 결과는 취약계층에 속하는 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 휴대폰 의존성을 줄이고 올바른 휴대폰 사용과 나아가 정신건강을 향상시키기 위한 다각적 차원에서의 조기개입 및 지원 방향의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있다.

This study aims to investigate the longitudinal changes of mobile phone dependency and examine the effects of aggression and depression on mobile phone dependency. The participants were 235 children in community service centers. The second panel data from the fourth-year to sixth-year of the community child center survey were analyzed. Multivariate latent growth model analysis was utilized. The results were as follows: First, levels of mobile phone dependency steadily increased from fourth-year to sixth-year. Second, both aggression and depression significantly predicted children’s initial levels of mobile phone dependency. In addition, depression significantly predicted their rates of increase of mobile phone dependency. This study provides evidence that aggression and depression are important factors in mobile phone dependency among children in community service centers. This study also offers baselines for early interventions and educational program development about appropriate use of the mobile phone by children in community service centers.
