Abstract
The purpose of this study is to look into research trends concerning Late Talker Children in international and Korean journals. A total of 89 articles were selected. These papers were reviewed in terms of the time of publication, research type, developmental period of subjects and also dependent variables. The main results of this study were as follows: First, Korean studies were taken from the mid 2000s, whereas international studies were taken from the mid 1980s. Second, most of the Korean and international studies consisted of comparative studies of normal children. Third, the most common dependent variables are language variables and there are also a lot of studies on symbolic play researches of Late Talker Children. Fourth, the studies in international journal were various developmental periods ranging from infancy to adolescence, whereas the study in Korean journals were limited to infancy. The implications for future research in Korea were discussed.
