현대패션에 나타나는 비정형 디자인의 특성과 내적 의미에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 2010년대에 확산되고 있는 비정형 패션디자인을 정의하고, 그 궤적과 디자인의 특성 그리고 내적 의미를 정성적 관점에서 도출하는데 있다. 연구방법은 비정형 패션의 발생배경에 관한 문헌조사 후, 적용사례를 분석하여 궤적과 내적 의미를 도출하는 정성적 분석방법을 택하였다. 비정형 개념은 정초주의와 기능주의에 의해 정형화되고 세습되어지는 사회의 고정 관념을 타파하기 위해 발생되었다. 이러한 예술이 불분명한 선과 형태로 표현되는 이유는 다른 형태로의 변형이 용이한 가변성을 내포하고 있기 때문이다. 연구결과, 패션분야에서의 비정형 디자인은 이전 것에 대한 거부와 탈피를 지향하고, 고의적인 변형이나 왜곡을 추구하며 특별한 형태를 나타내기보다는 기본형태의 일부조차도 남아 있지 않은 가변적 디자인을 나타내고 있었다. 또한 다른 것에 동화되는 것을 거부하는 유일성을 바탕으로 하고, 언제나 변할 수 있는 유동성을 내포하면서 인체의 형태에 순응되지 않는 특성이 있었다. 디자이너들이 세상의 어느 것과도 닮지 않은 비정형의 유일한 형태를 추구하는 이유는 세계에로의 존재감과 독자성을 표출할 수 있음은 물론, 형태의 차별화를 반복하여 자신의 행위를 기록하고, 자신이 세운 우상으로부터 탈피하여 과거의 자기를 극복할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구의 의의는 현대패션에 확산되고 있는 비정형 디자인을 정의하고, 그 의미를 정성적 관점으로 조명하는데 있다.

The objective of this study is to define formless fashion design that is being widespread in the 2010s, and determine its path, design characteristics and internal meaning from a qualitative view. This study adopted the research method of qualitative analysis to figure out the path and internal meaning by analyzing cases of application, after conducting a literature review on the background of formless fashion. The concept of formlessness was first developed to break social stereotypes that were standardized and transmitted by foundationalism and functionalism. This art is depicted in unclear lines and shapes because it connotes variability that facilitates transformation into other shapes. The results of the study suggest that formless design in fashion denies and breaks free from things of the past, seeks intentional transformations or distortions, and represents variable designs that do not leave even a single part of the basic shape rather than presenting a special shape. It is based on exclusiveness that refuses to assimilate with others, and does not adapt itself to the shape of human body characteristically while connoting liquidity to change at all times. Designers seek the sole shape based on formlessness that does not resemble anything else in the world because they can express their presence and identity in the world. In addition, they can also record their actions by repeating differentiation of shapes, and overcome their past by breaking away from the idols they had built. This study has significance in that it defines formless design that is being widespread in contemporary fashion, and sheds light on its meaning from a qualitative view.
