- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to analyse the design strategies and presentation of modern architecture and fashion design. This explains the characteristics of volume presentation and design languages of volume in modern architecture and fashion design through comparisons among form, skin, and material. This research of elements of voluminous design in modern architecture and fashion design reveals that forms of deconstructive and indeterminate form of design is classified by constructional media and fuctional expansion, acception of inner movement and transition, and topological expression. The skin of media is classified by expansion of inside and outside boundary, emphasis of nodes, and ‘segmentation and modularization of surface’. The new materials and hybridization is classified by construction of materials, expansion of surface and hybridization of materiality. These subelements reflect the languages of design strategies in modern architecture and fashion design. Many design languages converge upon ‘creative system and process’, ‘existent phenomenological communication’, ‘imformational image and semiotic system’, and ‘diachronic indeterminate bodyscape’.
