- A view of the People’s Republic of China academic world about therelation of Koguryo and the northern nationsKANG SunA view of the People’s Republic of China academic world about the relation of Koguryo andthe northern nations is ‘subordination’. This is based on records of tribute and installation.However the relation of Koguryo and the northern nations appeared variously according to timeand object. The relation of Koguryo and Murong Xianbei(모용선비) was hostile and unfriendly. First therelation of them was superiority of Murong Xianbei but that of Koguryo later. Qidan(거란) wascontrolled under Koguryo and bacame a part of the army of Koguryo. They did not organize the
