Abstract
This paper presents a cost model that estimates the performance of multidimensional indexing methods that support sequential access. The cost model makes a distinction between page access costs depending on whether pages are accessed sequenlially or randomly. Our cost model shows almost the same performance curve as that of the experimenral results. A new index clustering technique to which our cost model is applied is also presented.
