- Abstract
- Xing Shi Yan is the last Ni Hua Ben novel written in the late Ming Dynasty .In the novel that aimed at “creating a standard for the society”, the author Lu Renlong fully opend his view of “Qing-Li” concept. As a civilian literator who was trying to change the morality corruption in the late Ming Dynasty with the legitimacy value idea of Confucian, the author not only deeply disclosed how the people pursued lucre by fair means or foul and indulged sexy passion regardless sense of honor, but also provided the ethics based on the Confucian legitimacy idea as well as the “cause and effect” concept and fatalism in the civil ideology to exhort the social life. The “Qing-Li”concept embodied in the novel revealed the popularized understanding of the Yangming “Xin” school about the traditional Confucian morality idea and manifested the mission sense of the author to change the social reality.
