Tourism routes as a tool for the economic development in South Asia Countries

Abstract

Tourism offers multiple benefits. From a citizen's point of view, it can create jobs, enterprise and wealth. From government's point of view, the sector can generate both foreign exchange and tax revenues. From an investor's point of view it can generate stable profits over the long run. And Important, tourism offers involves backward and forward linkages with other sectors that help integrate it fully into an economy. At the same time, we must be mindful of the potential for negative social of environmental impacts. Tourism sector can contribute to a more equitable and efficient economic growth, and achieve sustained poverty reduction in the South Asia region if developed sustainable preserving local culture and the natural environment.
