- Abstract
- The Purpose of this paper is to research the definitions of the food nouns in the dictionary, especially Pyojungugeodaesajeon (Standard Korean Grand Dictionary). We think that the food nouns can be described with reference to the cooking processes or the manner of the eating food. But in the dictionary the food nouns are given definitions inconsistently. Some similar kinds of food nouns are described as if their meanings are not related each other. So we suggested that food nouns be described with reference to the cooking processes consistently.
