Abstract

This study analyzed the designation-degree of verbs, through the structure of self-designation in object-location. The structure of self-designation is largely classified into shilei(事類), shizhong(事種), shijian(事件). In the designation degree, shilei(事類) is the highest, shizhong(事種)is middle, shijian(事件) is the lowest. The verbs appeared in the shilei(事類) object is activity verbs and state verbs; The verbs appeared in the shizhong(事種) object is not only most of activity verbs and state verbs. but also a little relational verbs and existence verbs, ‘有’, ‘無’, ‘爲(become)’, ‘及’, ‘比’. In the contrary, most of the verbs is appeared in the shijian(事件) object. This analysis means that the designation degree of activity verbs and state verbs is relatively high, the designation degree of relational verbs and existence verbs is relatively low. The frequency of occurrence of the shijian(事件) object is much higher than shilei(事類), shizhong(事種) object.
