- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of body composition and exercise capacity on golf performance in male professional golfers.41 male subjects were participated in this study and they measurd for their body composition, step test, push up, sit up, sit and reach, grip strength, side step test, sergent jump test, isokinetic strength test, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, maximal oxygen intake, exercise time, heart rate, and anaerobic threshold. The evaluation of golf performance include total golf score of 4 days of round. All outcome measures were analyzed using a analysis of multiple correlation and multiple regression. There were significant correlations between the golf scoring averages and sit and reach, left extension and left flexion peak torque, exercise time and resting heart rate(p<0.05). In conclusion, these data suggest that golf training program including flexibility and isokinetic strength improve golf performance in male professional golfers.
