초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate how coach interacted with female basketball players in tournament, training, and general occasions. The data was collected from the open questionnaires and the semi-systematic interview based on three types of occasions with six acting coaches’ direct perspectives, and analyzed inductively in compliance with codes of qualitative research method and procedure. As a result, 347 raw data was categorized into 11 sub-divisions which were trust & faith, affection, consideration & respect, mentoring, belief, conversation, mutual understanding, encouragement & recognition, promise, and cooperation & team spirit and into four general divisions which were intimacy, professionalism, communication, and collaboration. Each relationship factor by occasion was variously presented, conceptualizing personal connection and interpreting it as a series of coach-player social-psychological process. This result showed that interaction is a major connector between coach and player and an important influencer to each of them for psychological behavior and decision making. Hence, this result proved that in sport context, coach-player’s interdependency is essential and what they perceive from their relationship helps them to carry on their roles and responsibilities.
