초록

It is a study that grasped one side of Korea’s modern historical literature by analyzing the aspect of Kim Won-sul motif’s literary appropriation from the genealogical point of view of this paper. In order to fully achieve the above research objectives, this study first analyzed on Kim Sang-deok’s a historical tale, “Mother of Kim Won-sul,” and Lee Kwang-soo’s short story, “The Origin of Won-sul,” starting with Lee Yoon-jae’s play “Regret of Kim Won-sul,” which was the first literary work of Kim Won-sul motif. After the above work was released, the popular success factors of the historical play “Hwarangdo,” which was performed by the Bando Theater Company and the theater company Taeyang, were discussed. As a result, it has been concluded that Kim Won-sul motif’s literary acceptance is in line with the colonial-era historical literature’s trend that has been transformed into a trumpeter of the spread of imperial discourse since it began in the mid-1920s with the enhancement of nationalist ideology.
