초록
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships among self-disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, and post-traumatic growth among adults who experienced pet loss, with a particular focus on the serial mediating roles of social support and deliberate rumination. A survey was conducted with 746 adults who had experienced the loss of a companion animal at least six months earlier, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS Macro 4.2. The findings indicated significant positive associations among self-disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, and post-traumatic growth. In addition, social support and deliberate rumination showed significant individual and serial mediating roles in the association between self-disclosure and post-traumatic growth. Self-disclosure was associated with post-traumatic growth both directly and indirectly through social support and deliberate rumination. These findings suggest that emotional openness, perceived social support, and deliberate cognitive processing may be related to psychological adaptation following pet loss. The present study contributes foundational evidence for the development of counseling and grief support interventions for individuals experiencing pet loss.
