This study aims is to systematically organize the studies on the psychology of middle-aged men and discuss new directions for future research. To this end, 103 journals, 93 dissertations, and a total of 196 were implemented for this study. Studies conducted from 2016 to 2020 accounted for about 52.8% of the total studies in the annual trend. In terms of academic trends, the most researches were published in the social field (20.4%), followed by education (19.9%), psychology (15.2%), family (13.8%), other fields (13.8%), health (11.7%), and theology (5.1%). In the trend of each research a quantitative approach (77.5%) as the approach method, cross-sectional study (90.3%) in time design, and questionnaire method (77.5%) as data collection, were conducted the most. Regression analysis (52.5%) was the most frequent data analysis. In the trend by research subject, individual internal (83.7%) was the most, followed by counseling/program (8.7%), family relations (7.1%), and scale development (0.5%). Among the 18 studies in counseling/program trends, 5 were single case studies, and 13 were structured group education/program development and effectiveness verification studies. Based on the results, this study suggested the future direction of middle aged-males psychology. And, ideas the need for practical and longitudinal studies, and the diversification of research topics were discussed.
