초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze trends of research on mid-life in domestic counseling field by analyzing the researches related to the middle-aged published in `The Korean Journal of Counseling` and `The Korean Journal of Counseling and Psychotherapy.` This study provides research directions for mid-life in this area. A total of 30(2000∼2016) studies were analyzed with regard to research number by published year, research objects, research subjects, research methods. First, from 2005 to 2016, middle-aged studies have been published steadily, but only 1% of articles on the middle-aged were published compared to the total articles published in both journals. Second, 50% of all studies were among middle-aged women. Third, the most studied topics were psychological characteristics (30%), and followed by mid-life crisis and adjustment(20%). Fourth, the results of analysis of the research method were quantitative research(77%), qualitative research(20%) and mixed research(3%). Based on the results of this analysis, implications and suggestions for future studies on the middle-aged were discussed.
