초록
This study examined the characteristics and meaning of the dystopia in Korean juvenile science fiction diachronically, which was created from the 1950s to the 2010s. In the era of space competition between the United States and the Soviet Union under the Cold War system, a longing and a fantasy for science and technology were great, but most of works were created to "warn" the danger of the nuclear war due to the fear of nuclear explosion. In the semiconductor era, which was a period of rapid growth, though expectations and confidence in science and technology grew bigger, they were written to be wary of the seriousness of environmental pollution and the uniformity of automation. On the other hand, the optimistic view that science and technology could solve the problems as long as they abandoned greed was dominant. In the era of artificial intelligence, even if advanced science and technology has had a great achievement, the risk of biopolitics resulting in employment instability and abnormal climate, etc, was exposed, and adolescents were suggested as alternative forces against it. As a result, during this period, the belief that science and technology could solve social problems grew weak. In short, the dystopia in Korean juvenile science fiction has served to expose social contradictions of the time, be wary of technological utopia, and criticize the harmful effects of scientificism and developmentism.
