The development of human society of today is mostly powered by the expansion of intellectual ability of human being. One of the hindrances of the expansion of intellectual ability of human being might be the fixed view in seeing things and thinking. We tend to think in a stereotyped way of fixed thinking unconsciously. We need to avoid these way of fixed thinking to attain creativity and originality in art creation. We can find numerous cases of art works using defamiliarization techniques which seem to be used break up these way of fixed thinking in contemporary art. The researcher tried to present the guidelines applicable to the creation of floral art and its education by deriving and structuring the characteristics from contemporary art work images which can be considered as applying defamiliarization techniques. The behavior setting analysis and the grounded theory methodology which are considered as qualitative research were utilized as the methods of research. To concrete, firstly the researcher performed research deriving descriptive sentence as open-coding of the grounded theory methodology utilizing behavior setting analysis technique based on the chosen photo images of art work. And then the researcher proceeded the research through cyclical repetition of applying axial-coding and selective-coding of the grounded theory methodology until all groups were categorized. Therefore finally a series of theories were derived, which were structured as presentable form. As a result, 3 top concepts, 10 upper concepts, 29 middle concepts, 74 lower concepts, and 231 bottom concepts were derived. These concepts were constructed and presented as the creative guidelines for floral art creation which can be applied to floral art education. The meaning of this study can be found in its first trial of deriving guidelines for floral art education by applying qualitative research methods such as the behavior setting analysis and the grounded theory methodology based on the cases of defamiliarization technique application among contemporary art works.
