With this gap in the literature in mind, this paper aims to reveal the political implications of Plato`s gymnastic education, focusing on his two major works-Republic and Laws. This paper will address the communication and relationship between the private activities of the individuals and the public issues. In this paper, This paper will draw the following three political implications from gymnastic education in Plato`s thoughts. Firstly, gymnastic education in Plato`s thoughts helps the individuals achieve well-being and virtues, such as courage, wisdom, moderation and justice. Secondly, it leads the individuals to learn how to discourse about the political things, and to participate in organizations and operations of the body politic, such as the assembly. In so doing, the individuals become the citizen. Lastly, it turns the individuals to warriors so that they can defense and guarantee their state security on their own.
