초록
The purpose of the study is to suggest specific activities that parents can do together in young children’s piano study at home. Through this, the study will promote parental involvement in their children’s piano study and seek for the direction of piano education in more effective ways. Many research has proved the effectiveness and importance of parental involvement in early music education. However, it is difficult to find any studies or programs which deal with specific activities about how parents can work together for their children’s piano study. For this reason, this study explored practical activities for parents to do together in their children’s piano study at home. The study searched for the guidelines for parents by analyzing study books and materials for young children. It also analyzed contents and activities that some of piano books suggested. Through this, it analyzed insufficient parts in the parental participation of piano books and explored the supplemental ways. As a result, the study provided nine kinds of activities including expressing thoughts and feelings of parents, questioning, and other related activities that parents can work together in their children’s piano study. The study can be valued in that it provided specific activities that parents can do together in their children’ piano study and showed the possibility of parental involvement in piano education.
