The purpose of this study was to examine awareness and use of medicinal herb cosmetics among female consumers, their general attitude to cosmetics, needs for medicinal herb cosmetics and opinions on their competitiveness. It's basically meant to step up the expansion of the medicinal herb cosmetic market among every consumer group and to provide some efficient marketing information. The subjects in this study were 411 female consumers who resided in and around Seoul. They were in their 20s through 50s. After a survey was conducted for 20 days from March 25 to April 14, 2014, the collected data were analyzed. The findings of the study were as follows: As the findings of the study show, the majority was aware of medicinal herb cosmetics or had experience of using these cosmetics. The findings signify that there is a growing demand for medicinal herb cosmetics. As the use of these cosmetics is more prevailing among women, there will be a bright future for the medicinal herb cosmetic market both in our country and in the world if scientific evidence is offered about the effects of the cosmetics.
