초록

The study aimed to understand psychological characteristics of dating violence offenders to provide practical applications for preventing dating violence. The effect of cognitive flexibility on controlling behavior in dating relationships was investigated, and the sequential mediation effect of negative problem orientation and borderline personality between cognitive flexibility and controlling behavior was examined. As a result, the lower the cognitive flexibility, the more frequently the controlling behavior occurred in dating relationships, the higher the negative problem orientation, the stronger the borderline personality. The sequential mediation effect of negative problem orientation and borderline personality between cognitive flexibility and controlling behavior was statistically significant. In other words, the lower the cognitive flexibility, the higher the negative problem orientation, the stronger the borderline personality, the more frequently the controlling behavior occurred in dating relationships. Based on these results, the practical implications of the study on preventing dating violence were discussed, including cognitive flexibility education program for dating violence offenders, counseling therapy for decreasing negative problem orientation, and emotion regulation program.
