This study examined the effects of therapeutic music activities using positive psychology-based lyrics on the recovery attitudes and mental health confidence of users in mental rehabilitation facilities. The participants were 28 individuals with mental illness from two facilities in S city, divided into 13 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group. The experimental group was provided with therapeutic music activities using positive psychology-based lyrics consisting of 10 sessions, 40 minutes per week. After the 10th session, post-testing was conducted for both groups. The test tool used a scale developed by Borkin (2000), and the mental health confidence was translated and standardized by Kwon Ja-young (2014) developed by Carpinello et al. The results are as follows. First, there was a significant change in the pre-post score of recovery attitude of the experimental group and a statistically significant difference between two groups. Second, there was a significant change in the mental health confidence pre-post score of the experimental group and a statistically significant difference between two groups. The results show that positive psychology-based therapeutic music activities enhance positive emotions and provide recovery resources. This study also serves as a foundation for developing psychological support programs for social integration in the community.
