The purpose of this study was to verify the sequential mediating effects of external locus of control and self-efficacy in the relationship between perceived parental psychological control and middle school students’ aggression. Study participants were 603 middle school students in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon. The collected data were analyzed by means of structural equation modelling using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 25.0. Also, bootstrapping was used to verify the significance of a mediating effect and the results of this study were as follows. The results of this study were as follows. Firstly, external locus of control and self-efficacy showed the partial mediating effects in the relation between parental psychological control and aggression. Secondly, external locus of control and self-efficacy were mediated sequentially in the relation between parental psychological control and aggression. As a result, this study showed a significant impact on external locus of control and parental psychological control was revealed as an important variable increasing middle school students’ aggression. In contrast, self-efficacy was revealed as an important variable decreasing middle school students’ aggression.
