The purpose of this study is to investigate a study on the stage anxiety of high school students participating in dance competition to improve their competitive abillty. To carry out this study, 180 subjects who took part in the national event or regional event held in the latter part of 2003, and the former part of 2004, were selected. In the study, their competitive stage anxiety during their performance time was measured according to their dance styles and careers, In particular, the difference in cognitive and somatic anxiety and their confidence was checked according to their dance styles and careers. The CSAI-2 lnventoty developed from Martens et al(1990) and Reformal Scale by Kim(1995), that is-dance performance ability were used to measure the performer`s competitive stage anxiety level, the method of survey was visited the High Schools before 5 days ago in main events. The results was analysed by SPSS/PC and Multiple Classification Analysis and Analysis of Covariance, and Correlation Analysis were used to know the difference competitive anxiety according to their dance styles and careers, and stage performance ability according to their dance styles and careers, and between competitive anxiety and state performance ability in each concept and variables. The results are as follows : First of all, in the case of the relationship of competitive anxiety according to dance styles. 1) There was differentiated to cognitive anxiety according to their dance styles participating in dance competitive events.
