The purpose of this study is to find out the possibility of creative ideation to influence the author's other work(essay); and if so, in what way picture books and essays becomes mutually subjective. Such questions are investigated through the case of Yoko Sano's works. In terms of research method, the analytical criteria for creative thinking is drawing on 'Creativity System Model' by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi and 'Creative People, Creative Thinking Process, Creative Product and Socio-Cultural Impact' by Choi Insu. The criteria is used to analyse Yoko Sano and her works. As a result of research, the creative ideas and metaphorical visual expressions in Yoko Sano's picture books and essays include the followings: First, 'life and death, reincarnation and love' arise in forms of creative ideation and metaphorical visual expression, from the author's grounding experience. Second, the protagonist's creative free will and metaphorical visual expression stand out across her entire work. Third, Yoko Sano, with her artistic creativity, constantly presented visual metaphorical patterns in her picture books and essays until her death, and this poses certain implications to professionals in related field.
