Participation media, SNS is growing exponentially increasing total amount of social communication message and discussion by ordinary people. This research examines the relationship between SNS and social conflict. Some assert SNS decrease social conflict while others believe social conflict is getting bigger resulting from SNS growth. To see if which is the case, using 3 theoretical concepts (decontextualization, group polarization, self-justification) a survey was administered yielding over 1000 research data. Unlike prior expectation, SNS use and perception on social conflict was not correlated. Any of decontextualization, group poliarzation, self-justification was proper variable to explain deterioration of social conflict. On the contrary the more SNS use, the more they agree the need of social discussion and settling conflicts among social groups. Traditional communication style of Koreans (reluctant to express personal opinion to many) was going on in SNS world as well. Silent majority and isolation of Korean conservative people were also found.
