We seek to contribute to developing practical applications for preventing displaced aggression based on psychological approach to the relation between narcissistic vulnerability and displaced aggression. We explored how narcissistic vulnerability affected displaced aggression and its three sub-factors(angry rumination, general tendency to engage in displaced aggression, and revenge planning), and the sequential mediation effect of perfectionistic self-presentation and post-event rumination by gender. As a result, women compared to men displayed higher level of perfectionistic self-presentation and post-event rumination. For both men and women the bigger the narcissistic vulnerability, the higher the perfectionistic self-presentation, post-event rumination, and displaced aggression. We discussed the theoretical and practical implications on preventing displaced aggression.
