A Study on the Modern Acceptance of Joseon Yasa(unofficial history) : Focusing on Lee Seok-chon’s 「野史」 in the series of the 『Maeil Shinbo』

초록

This is the first discussion of the longest-serving 「野史(Yasa, unofficial history)」(『Maeil Sinbo』, 1932.08.13-1933.05.07) among the Joseon Yasa accepted in modern media. It is a significant text in that it formed an axis of mass poison related to the history of the colonial period and is a typical example of Joseon Yasa settled in modern media. This is even more so in that it is extremely useful in examining the modern acceptance of Joseon Yasa, which is a major source of historical novels and stories. This paper first analyzes the serial background, system, and discourse characteristics of 「野史」. Subsequently, the source and citation aspects of historical records and historical perceptions projected on the basis of them were explored. The popular heyday of historical fiction and the serialization period of 「野史」 overlap. In addition, a similar narrative mechanism penetrates these texts. Of course, while historical fiction pursued fun, 「野史」 has some differences in that it is a text that focuses on the delivery of historical knowledge. In terms of discourse, 「野史」 is a text that is different from historical fiction. The important fact is that beyond that difference, 「野史」 is an interesting reading material presented to the public. The status of 「野史」 as a text that clearly shows the modern acceptance of Joseon Yasa can be found here.
