초록

This scoping review examined 58 studies on AI-based psychological counseling published in Korea since 2012. Research in this field has recently increased but mostly focuses on technical aspects rather than clinical effectiveness or application. The review also identified several areas that have been insufficiently addressed in existing research. There is a clear need for more empirical studies on diverse populations, integration of counseling theory into algorithms, and development of ethical and legal guidelines. These findings highlight the importance of broader, evidence-based approaches and policy support for the advancement of AI-based counseling in Korea.
