Globalization of the supply network increases its risk of exposure to abnormal conditions. Varying as per the situation, the effectiveness of supply network resilience strategies for coping with abnormal situations depends on the structure of the supply network, the pattern of market demand, and the duration of the failure. This study examines the effectiveness of the resilience strategies by situation, through simulation using an agent-based model. Consequently, the dual sourcing strategy has been found to have the most effective total cost and back order. While the surplus inventory strategy has the most effective back order for short-term failure, it is the worst strategy for long-term failure. The temporary supply strategy is effective in increasing demand patterns, whereas the surplus inventory strategy is effective in random demand patterns. Furthermore, in all resilience strategies, a higher total cost and back order have been observed when the network structure is scale-free, rather than random.
