The Effects of Parenting Stress of Women with Career Disruption on their Dysfunctional Anger Expression: The Dual Mediation Effects of Anger Rumination and Social Support

This study aimed to verify the dual mediating effect of anger rumination and social support in the relationship between parenting stress and dysfunctional anger expression among career-interrupted women. To this end, a survey was conducted with 345 career-interrupted women, and correlation analysis and dual mediation analysis were performed using SPSS 28.0 and PROCESS Macro 4.2. The results showed that parenting stress, anger rumination, social support, and dysfunctional anger expression were all significantly correlated. Furthermore, anger rumination and social support were significantly mediated the relationship between parenting stress and dysfunctional anger expression, confirming the significance of the dual mediation effect. These findings highlight the necessity of combining cognitive interventions aimed at reducing anger rumination with environmental approaches that enhance social support in order to regulate negative emotional responses. Based on these results, this study discusses the need to develop psychosocial intervention programs to promote emotional stability and prevent dysfunctional anger expression in career-interrupted women.
