Competency has become a new driver of educational innovation to enhance university competitiveness due to the demands of the times and changes in future talent to meet rapid changes in knowledge and technology. However, Korea's status in the global ranking of universities worldwide is low, so it is urgent to develop measures to strengthen university competitiveness. To this end, developing a plan to strengthen competitiveness is necessary, focusing on core competencies that universities recognize as necessary. However, as a result of collecting and analyzing core competencies through the websites of 154 universities in Korea, which were disclosed in the Academyinfo, it was found that discrimination between core competencies according to the characteristics of the university was insufficient by presenting general common competencies. It was judged that there would be difficulties in linking and measuring curriculum to improve student competencies due to ambiguity in implications and presentation of competencies at the level of university management. Therefore, this study conducted a critical word network analysis and LDA topic modeling analysis using the NetMiner 4.5 program, focusing on 1,006 capabilities extracted from 154 four-year universities. We selected 'creativity' and 'convergence' as the critical keywords with the highest network connection and importance between surrounding words. We derived six critical competencies by reflecting on the social trends and changes of the times and dividing the individual and social dimensions. Individual-level competencies presented 'human communication,' 'self-leadership,' and 'metacognitive thinking' as competencies that students voluntarily and independently exercise, and social-level competencies presented 'cognitive flexibility,' 'digital literacy,' and 'mega global' as competencies that mean active practice and response to various surrounding environmental factors.
