The purpose of this study is to explore the universal values of human life, liberty and equality, from the perspective of Donghak. In the context of the Pandemic, where Corona-19 has spread all over the world, our country’s method of disease management is regarded as a world-renowned best practice. On the other hand, this situation inevitably entails restrictions on personal privacy, even for a limited time. Therefore, it seems necessary to discuss the liberty of Donghak and the equality of Donghak in modern society. For this, literature research and various types of empirical data and statistical indicators were used. The content of this study is, first, what is liberty of Donghak from a modern point of view. For example, what is the range of personal privacy allowed by Jigi-monism, the ontology of Donghak, and also, in what cases, the limits of personal privacy can be justified. Second, what is equality of Donghak from a modern point of view. The idea of equality is about what is the most Donghak equality that fits our society during the economic downturn caused by Corona-19, in that it is not free from human life at a specific time or situation. The results of this study are: First, personal privacy can be limited only if the public’s purpose is not to harm the life of the community and if its effectiveness is clear. For example, in order to reduce the damage of Corona-19 infection, disclosing the trafficking information of the infected person is not a violation of personal privacy. Second, today’s equality can be understood as basically economic equality in the direction of alleviating income and asset inequality. For example, heavy taxation on speculative assets and basic income policies can be effective ways to promote economic equality.
